Arun Kaul, 55-year-old steel consultant, will ride a horse to his Alumni Day function on Sunday at the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B) juts like he used to during his college days more than 25 years ago. Arun Kaul’s story of how he would go to class on a horse (which was not even
his) every day and how his horse would be ‘parked’ in the cycle shed every night are all part of the book Madhouse: True Stories of the Inmates of Hostel 4 that will be launched on Sunday.

Packed with 187 anecdotes contributed by 180 alumni (none of it has anything to do with academics), the book is already available in bookstores.

It features the escapades of people such as Manohar Parrikar, the former chief minister of Goa and Madhu Das, head of ISKCON, Bangalore. HT had first written about this book on September 26.

Edited by Urmilla Deshpande and Bakul Desai, the proceeds of the book will go towards the betterment of mess workers.
